About Us

Bright Dogs is run by Verity Bowell, a qualified and experienced dog behaviourist and trainer.

"After a degree in Zoology, and a Masters degree in Animal Behaviour and Welfare I completed my PhD in animal training at the University of Stirling. This gives me the understanding of why our dogs behave in the way they do, what they need to live happy and fulfilled lives and how to change and manage behaviours which cause problems to them and us."

"I have spent the last few years working for the charity Canine Partners, who train assistance dogs to transform the lives of people with disabilities. I work with volunteers to prepare the puppies in training for their future role, covering lifeskills and the socialisation all puppies need. This has given me great skills in teaching dogs not just obedience but also how to live in our human environments, and also how to teach people how to train their dogs!"

"I enjoy keeping up to date with the latest developments in dog behaviour and training through attending courses, online study and reading scientific literature."

"When I'm not working, I'm often found training or walking my own dogs and competing in agility."

Bright Dogs is fully insured and uses only kind, positive reinforcement training to grow your relationship with your dog.
